Crabtain Hook is a restaurant and event space in Ipoh and from the pun in their name, it is already obvious that they specialise in serving crabs! The crabs served here however aren’t just ordinary, local crabs, they are imported crabs from Indonesia. Crabtain Hook receives a fresh shipment of live crabs everyday and upon arrival, they are meticulously inspected by the staff to ensure that the stock is lively and fresh. These crabs are much larger than crabs found locally and once cooked, are succulent, meaty and just delicious! The crabs can be prepared in several styles; charcoal grilled, baked, in a rich porridge, simmered in a hearty soup or smothered in salted egg sauce or spicy sauce. Other dishes, mainly Asian cuisine, such as Chinese Barbequed Pork with Noodles, Hong Kong Style Noodles with Ham, Sausage and Egg as well as snacks and breakfast items. Crabtain Hook does well to cater to Ipoh’s nightlife, opening in the evening till the early hours of the morning and serves a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Event Venue

Crabtain Hook has a simple and pleasant interior, with walls showcasing pictures of beaches and crabs together with decor such as fishing nets and a ship’s wheel to add to the ambiance of the sea. The brightly lit interior of Crabtain Hook is not air-conditioned however, it is kept cool by the plenty of fans, strategically placed to keep customers comfortable while they tuck into their seafood feast. An outdoor dining area is available as well for customers who prefer to enjoy their meals under the night sky.

Events

Crabtain Hook is a great venue for having private events such as birthday party, family dinner, reunion dinner, corporate dinner, festive dinner and many others. Private events held here can accommodate up to 150 pax.
