One of Ipoh famous culinary specialist major in barbeque and roasted dishes, Restaurant SYWís legacy went way back in 1976 when the patriarch of Sun Yeong Wai started his roast duck business with a self-designed oven in front of his restaurant in Jalan Yau Tet Shin and travelled annually to Hong Kong to enhance his culinary skills in the preparation of roast ducks and seek ways to improve his business. By the 1990ís, the business gradually being passed from father to son. Today, Danny is running the family business that prospers through 4 decades and has since expanded the business to three outlets in Taman Ipoh Jaya, Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh as well as Restaurant SYW in Jalan Mustapha Al-Bakri. Restaurant SYW is the brandís new modern concept restaurant event space that serves delicious non-halal food and innovative beverages at reasonable prices. Customer service is rated as excellent and friendly.

Event Venue

Restaurant SYW is occupying a three-storey establishment and certainly holds a lot of promise. Fully air-conditioned and fashioned to mimic a classic eatery in a proper sit-down restaurant setting. The interior design is said to be uniquely decorated in a way to fit in the retro elements as well as modern ambience. The ceilings are painted black whereas the walls are mainly in white with certain sections being brighten up with special paints in yellow. This event space combined the use of conventional Chinese marble round tables as well as some square and rectangle wooden tables and chairs. Restaurant SYW is clean, comfortable and cosy with soft music playing in the background. Some greens and lovely display shelves are seen in this event space, giving it a very refreshing and rejuvenating feeling.

Events

Restaurant SYW is a Chinese roasted dishes event space that is suitable for hosting a Chinese New Year reunion, birthday party, festival celebration, alumni party, anniversary, baby shower, bridal shower, full moon party, shooting and get-together with family and friends. This wonderful event space can accommodate up to 60 pax seated.

Location

Restaurant SYW is strategically located in the touristy area of Funny Mountain, on Jalan Mustapha Al-Bakri, also known as Clare Street. It is directly opposite the famous kaya puff shop named Sin Eng Heong. The frontage of Restaurant SYW is hard to miss, second lot with classy black exterior with huge yellow SYW logo. Parking is available along the street.
