WIP Bangsar, tugged in the prestigious Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC), was first known as Work in Progress to suit its initial concept (naked pipes, construction tape, hard hats and staff outfits) in 2007 and later in 2009 revamped into a stylist, coastal-resort like ambience and renamed to Whipped Into Place. WIP Bangsar is an international lifestyle destination; its urban-tropic garden design provides the perfect ambience for an exceptional relaxing experience. This event space features luscious cuisine comprising a hearty selection of Western, Asian and Northern Indian cuisine that will more than satisfy the palate. The Clam Bar complements with innovative cocktails, premium champagnes, wines, spirits and features KLís widest range of Mojitos. WIP Bangsar is the brainchild of Fred Choo and Michele Kwok, a husband and wife team and part of the SOUL Society Group, who owns the iconic alfresco dining outlets SOULed Out as well as Tujo Bar-sserie & Grill. Their idea was simple, to provide alfresco type dining experience that capture the expatriatesí market but were limited in KL.

Event Venue

WIP Bangsar showcases an urban-tropic garden concept inspired by the relaxed elegance of Nice, France and Santorini, Greece. This event space boats a coastal resort ambiance characterised by several custom crafted features like firefly pendant lights, palm trees, etched bird mirrors and a clam-shaped island bar. This event space uses steel, glass and dark wood as the dominant inside, giving it an avant-garde, industrial chic atmosphere that reminds one of the New York City circa the 1920s. Meanwhile, the outside dining area is reminiscent of a Northern Mediterranean beachside resort with a unique Clam Bar, designed to encourage interaction between patrons and bartenders. The 5 elements of wood, fire, metal, earth and water are also applied to create balance of harmony. Music at WIP Bangsar is light and easy, not loud. The resident DJs at WIP play a medley of house and R&B as background music, which gets a little louder at night, especially on weekends.

WIP Bangsar, an urban tropic garden is perfect for hosting a birthday party, anniversary, bridal shower, bachelor / bachelorette party, festive celebration, get-together, corporate event, and any type of stunning party. There are 4 seating options for you to choose from at WIP Bangsar. The Garden features the ambient sounds of water coupled with the gurgle of chatter, laughter and activity. This section seats 80 with ease. The Patio is sandwiched by verdant greenery, 70 pax are able to go about their merry ways under a tropical sky. The Lounge is able to take a population of 50 in the thick of the action in the vicinity of the Clam Bar. While The Dining Room is for those seeking a less boisterous part of the restaurant, this space seats 50 comfortably. This even space is rather spacious and can accommodate a total of 250 pax at once.

Location

WIP Bangsar is located in the strategically placed Bangsar Shopping Centre. It has easy access from all parts of KL via the highways that link to it. While Bangsar Shopping Centre has parking bays located at its basement, it sometimes can quite packed during peak hours.
