Merchant’s Lane

The founders of Merchant’s Lane describes their place as a modern take on the heritage of Petaling Street and it’s a cafe and restaurant that sees the transversing of local charm and current culture. And what a heritage it is. The owners of Merchant’s Lane converted a 1920’s shophouse which had in the past seen a more colourful usage. Namely it used to be a brothel in the 1980s. In fact, if you walk further up the street, you will still see functioning brothels in the area.

Terms & Conditions

– Applicable for events from 5 pm onwards till late
– An additional charge of RM1,000 for Friday, Saturday & eve of public holiday nights
– An additional charge of RM1,000 for events during weekdays lunchtime or that intersects 12pm-3pm
– An additional charge of RM4,500 for events during weekends & public holidays lunchtime or that intersects 12pm-3pm
– All options are inclusive of the entire venue rental. Any other required setup can also be arranged

Book Merchant’s Lane

Event Space

Merchant’s Lane has 3 different sections. There’s the front hall which takes up to 50 pax. Then there’s the middle courtyard section which takes another 10 to 15 people. This is the area where your guests can go for their cigarette breaks. And then there’s a back section which takes another 10 to 15 pax. In all, Merchant’s Lane can accommodate a maximum of 80 pax. Every area looks slightly different but this is such an eclectically designed place that it’s no wonder it has become a hit with the instagram crowd.

Events

Merchant’s Lane is a suitable event space to host a meeting in the back section, a small corporate party, a product launch, and a press conference. Of course it would be also suitable for a birthday party, baby shower, a full moon party, or a gathering of friends. Or how about a marriage proposal where you book the whole space?

Location

Merchant’s Lane is blessed with one of the best locations on Petaling Street. Located at the edge of Petaling Street, you enter it just off Jalan Maharajalela. What’s even better is their event space is located just a short walk from an open air parking lot. Great access and easy parking and a really different looking interior makes Merchant’s Lane one of THE places to have an event in KL.
