Aka Cafe is a restaurant and cafe event space in Kuala Lumpur serving a selection of Japanese traditional and modern fusion fare. Founded by a mother and daughter team, the cafe was inspired by its owner’s years of living in Tokyo, and created with an aim to taste like Japan and feel like home at the same time. Aka Cafe’s menu offers a wide variety of desserts such as their signature Shiratama Dango (mochi with sweet red bean paste), Matcha Tiramisu, and pastel cakes, as well as main courses which include bento sets, udon, and curry rice. The cafe also serves assorted beverages including coffee, tea, juices, and their special frozen ice ball drinks.

Event Space

Aka Cafe KL boosts a comfortable and homey ambience with a welcoming atmosphere and cheerful vibe. Bathed in calm pastel tones, the interior of the cafe is decorated in Zakka style, a unique, creative, and natural style that originated from Japan. The entire event space is made up of wooden furniture, pillows, potted plants, books, and flowers that form a minimalistic, vintage, one-of-a-kind design.

Events

Aka Cafe KL is a cosy place for casual meet-ups and gatherings among family and friends over lunch, tea, or dinner. The cafe is also a suitable venue for hosting small scale events such as a birthday party, a tea party, or a baby shower, as it can accommodate up to a maximum of 50 pax.

Location

Aka Cafe KL is located at one of the shoplots facing the main road in Taman Danau Desa, Kuala Lumpur. As the event space is located on the first floor, its entrance is accessible via a flight of stairs. The cafe can be reached by both car and bus – public street parking is available around the area, and there is a bus stop just around the corner within a few minutes of walking distance.
