Chiu’s The Modern Local KK is a modern cafe established by a group of passionate and talented young people. They serve simple comfort food that are creatively curated using locally sourced ingredients and quality hand crafted beverages such as specialty coffee, teas, and smoothies. Chiu’s signature dishes are Chiu’s beef rice bowl, mushroom risotto, rib-eye steak, seafood aglio olio and beef burger.

Event Space

Chiu’s The Modern Local KK has a setting of a combination of zen and modernity. It has a mixture of sofa seats and dining seats. The retro pendant lights around the cafe brings out a warm and comfortable ambience and there is an open concept coffee experiment section which allows you to observe the baristas in action.

Chiu’s The Modern Local KK is a cosy event space that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. This event space is suitable for hosting a birthday party, a surprise party as well as gathering with family & friends. It can accommodate up to 45 pax.

Chiu’s The Modern Local KK is located at 88 market place in Kota Kinabalu. It is approximately 5 km away from KKIA and 6 km away from KK city centre. Parking is available on the street outside of the cafe.
