Hang Tuah Centre

Hang Tuah Center historical event space complex contains a gallery that depicts the life, stature and history of Hang Tuah, the most well-known Malay hero warrior as well another four other warriors. Their images are carved in stone at the entrance of the complex. The event space centre has five houses which represent the five famous Malay warriors that the Melaka Sultanate namely Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu. The houses display the superior and uniqueness of Malay architecture through refine technique and unique interpretation which is full of symbolism.

Event Space

Hang Tuah Center event space consists of five warrior houses. Each warrior house is opened daily except the for the Hang Jebat and Hang Lekiu house which is closed each Friday. The Hang Lekir’s house is still in the midst of being furnished. Each warriorís house is equipped with its own Silat training court. Visitors get to enjoy the unique architecture in the midst of a detailed explanation of the warriorís contribution to Malay history for a nominal entrance fee per head. The event space comes with other basic amenities such as toilets, prayer rooms and rest areas. There is a large area which could be utilised for event for up to 1,000 pax.

Events

Hang Tuah Center event space has an air-conditioned auditorium for lecturers, workshops, seminars, meetings, concerts, competitions, cultural and theatre performances and is a popular site for film makers and video screening. The five warrior houses are used for different events such as Hang Tuah House for Malay traditional wedding exhibitions and wedding party, Hang Jebat House for traditional weapon exhibitions, Hang Kasturi House for clothing exhibitions and demonstrations and the Hang Lekir House for Silat exhibitions.

Location

Hang Tuah Center event space is located at Perkampungan Hang Tuah Melaka and a two minute walk from the Hang Tuah. Car park facilities are available.
