LOKL

LOKL is a neighbourhood cafe that serves a very interesting neighbourhood. Interesting because LOKL is sited in a historic quarter of Kuala Lumpur, a place where much of the early trading and commercialisation began almost 100 years ago. In fact spice merchants, craft shops weaving rattan furniture, and shops that sell biscuits from bygone eras still ply their trade around this area. And what’s with the name LOKL? Hey just apply web 2.0 spelling to LOCAL and you will arrive at LOKL. Simple isn’t it.

Event Space

LOKL operates out of a pre-war building and the charm of that area exudes through the event space here. Exposed red brick walls, wooden & metal furniture, cement floorings complete the old world and industrial theme of this event space. There is also a bright airy courtyard within LOKL that lets a lot of light in to this space. LOKL is open to taking events from 3pm to 7pm, with event menu prices starting from RM68++. You can even take the whole event space at LOKL with a minimum of 30 pax.

Events

LOKL is suitable for hosting an office party, or a team meeting, a corporate meeting in a very different setting, a birthday party, a gathering of friends, or a network session for a small group of people who appreciate a fine looking environment. The space at LOKL can take up to 45 pax indoors and another 20 pax in the courtyard, making a total of 65 pax.

Location

LOKL is located near the Jalan Ampang (more specifically the Jalan Geraja) end of Jalan Tun HS Lee. While getting here by public transport (the Masjid Jamek LRT stop is just about 250 metres from here) is preferred, you could also get drive here if you wanted to. Parking is a bit of a hassle as there’s no street parking. There are several open air parking lots up and down the road but public transport remains the best option.
