Tokmi Station is a restaurant and event venue in Kota Kinabalu serving delicious Kelantanese cuisine and Ala-Thai cuisine. Kelantanese cuisine originates from the state of Kelantan in West Malaysia, close to the Malaysia-Thailand border. The cuisine from this state is unique and is heavily influenced by Malay cuisine. Many of their dishes involved using fragrant coconut milk as a key ingredient and their curries are known to be very creamy and bursting with flavour from its ingredients. Special Kelantanese dishes found at Tokmi Station are such as Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu, Ayam Percik, Gulai Daging, Daging Goreng Kunyit and many others including their signature Maggi Ketam which features a whole crab cooked with noodles in a rich flavourful broth. Ala-Thai cuisine refers to Thai-styled dishes made with some personal touches to the recipe by the chef such as the Tom Yam. Other than the exceptional savory dishes here, Tokmi Station also serves hot and cold beverages along with tasty snacks such as keropok lekor, roti canai and an assortment of authentic traditional ‘kuihs’.
Event Venue
Tokmi Station has a very simple layout with most of its establishment, including its kitchen, in a compact shop. The seating here is outdoors below a large and sturdy canopy with several ,strategically located, large fans to keep their customers cool while they enjoy their piping hot food. If many guests are expected, the layout of the restaurant can be rearranged to a reception style to accommodate the guests for the event.
Events
Tokmi Station is able to host private events for up to 100 pax. Private events suitable to be held here are such as Hari Raya celebration, family gathering, anniversary dinner, birthday party and many other events.
