Take a step back in time and venture into Calanthe Art Cafe, the first and only event space in Melaka which promotes 13 blends of coffee from various regions of Malaysia. It uniqueness lies not only in its coffee menu which is aptly named after the states of Malaysia but also in its wonderful presentation of each aromatic cuppa. Calanthe Art Cafe serves Asian delights with its signature dish of Calanthe Nyonya Laksa and Calanthe Chicken Satay served with dried squid shoestrings!

Event Space

Designed to replicate the rustic old school atmosphere, the event space has created its unique artistic ambiance through creative use of a hodge-podge of vintage house-hold items as wall and space decoration. Furnishings are a mixture of cane and wood furniture brightly and artistically painted and with multi-coloured cushions. Walk straight in and look for the old fashioned TV that is now an aquarium or refresh your geography with the large colourful map of Malaysia. Move in to the courtyard of this pre-war building and be awed by how every nick and corner of the event space is beautifully and artistically decorated, even below its staircase. Calanthe Art Cafe has three separate indoor seating areas and an outdoor seating area for up to 100 pax.

Calanthe Art Cafe is the event space to head to for coffee lovers be it with friends or family and a good place to hold a birthday party, surprise party, high tea, private function, small and large gathering.

Location

Calanthe Art Cafe is located off a side road from famous Jonker Street in Melaka. Easily identified with its large signage of “Malaysia 13 States’ Coffees”, the event space is a 5 minute walk from the Stadthuys Building. Metered street parking is available around the event space.
