Had our company buka puasa dinner over the restaurant on Monday. The view from pool side is magnificent as it captured view of the city. Sadly, I didn't see any effort on maintaining the facilities of the pool side. Pool water was disgusting as its green and cloudy, chairs are dirty and dust, not to say the smoke from roasting the lamb and satay. The restaurant have a grand interior view with good lighting, decoration and nice ambient. You could definitely feel the Raya atmosphere here. At this point, our company was actually planned to have our Buka Puasa event here again next year despite that the pool side condition, but eventually we cancelled our mind on this as the food was a huge letdown. The food quality and variety were absolutely despaired! I could barely count it with my fingers; 1 chicken,1 beef, 1 lamb, 1 fish, 2 vege, 2 rices, soups, little selection of starter and dessert, rubbery roast lamb, tenpayaki station (which I couldn't find the serving staff), noodle station and last but not least the rotten satay which I wouldn't expect to found in one grand and classy restaurant like yours. Told the manager regard the satay and took him more than half an hour to react by stop serving it but did not withdraw it from our table until we asked. Assuming that your good restaurant would just allow your customer to consume rotten food?? Overall, the worst dining experience.
You cannot deny that this is a beautiful venue for wedding and events - lush outdoor greens and gorgeous in door marquee. I fell in love with the venue the moment i saw it and insisted on having this place for my wedding. although a lot of additional things need to be arranged to make it a comfortable place for guest, I felt it was worth paying for. Example, baby chairs, tents to cover guest to toilet in case it rains, rela for security, platforms for walking in case it rains and it prevent heels from seeping into the soil etc.
However sad to say, the there are a lot of flaws in the maintenance and management of the venue.
1. dirty and poorly maintained toilets is definitely a downside. prior to the actual day of my wedding, we have provided feedback and hope this will be taken care of, however sad to say this was not heeded and we had to bring our own scented candles to spruce up the toilet smell.
2. changing room is very dirty - definitely need a lot of cleaning. poorly maintained air condition. a door that is difficult to lock and unlock and not to mention, the glass window on the door is broken - anyone who has the intention of stealing any valuable items, will be able to open the door from inside by just putting their hands through the broken door window
3. insufficient parking is a downside. we booked this venue for our wedding 17 months ago. the venue management promised us in 17months time, they will have proper parking area for guest. however 17months down the road, this was not done and the guest have to park all the way to the main road - which by the way is quite dangerous as the roads leading up to Puteh is poorly lighted.
4. arrangement and planning process of the management is poor. Extremely bad and slow with replies and arrangements. prior arrangements such as - rented air cooler was not even arranged on the day of the wedding even though this was communicated and paid up front. we paid for platforms to ensure a safe walkway towards the toilet. however, the platforms provided was very soft and unstable - it was in fact even more dangerous for guest, especially for old people because it was slight wobbly when walking on it.
If you really want to have a hassle free even here, i will recommend to just rent this place and get a even management company to help settle the rest of the items instead of leaving it to the management.
It's really a relaxed and casual restaurant, ideal for a family dinner or a gathering for friends to chill and have a great meal. The Gnocchi is delicious and the Tiramisu is simply sublime! Moist and not too sweet, it's really a must try!
