Bitter Sweet Cafe is a popular cafe and event venue in Miri, Sarawak. Since opening their doors in 2016, it has gained a reputation as a popular hang out spot amongst the locals, with live band performances featuring local bands and even traditional artists playing unique instruments such as the ‘sapeh’ which a folk instrument of the indigenous people in Central Borneo. Bitter Sweet Cafe is also known for their fares which includes local favourites such as the Singapore Fried Mee and Western cuisine such as the Braised Lamb Shank, Chicken & Mayo Sandwich and Pesto Pasta to name a few. On the menu, Bitter Sweet Cafe has aromatic coffee and coffee-based beverages available apart from non-coffee based drinks; served hot or cold according to the customer’s preference.

Event Venue

Bitter Sweet Cafe has a chic, edgy yet simple interior design, which follows an open air concept. Although air-conditioning is used, fans are plenty and available as well, which do a good job of keeping the surrounding temperature at a cozy level. Each side of Bitter Sweet Cafe has a black roller shade for hot, sunny days but no walls. The brightly lit interior is filled with many comfortable tables and chairs spaced evenly across the smooth cement floor. Despite the lack of a stage, an area can be prepared for musical acts which centres the attention of the whole cafe to one spot, making it a conducive venue for performances. While alfresco dining is not usually available at Bitter Sweet Cafe, it can be arranged as needed for the event being held.

When it comes to either casual celebrations or even business meetings, Bitter Sweet Cafe is a great place as an event venue. Other suitable events to be held at Bitter Sweet Cafe are such as a birthday party, product launch, cocktail party, anniversary dinner, musical performance and many others. Up to 100 pax can be hosted here for private events.
