The origin of the name for Lim Kopi Ipoh comes from a play of the similar sounding hokkien phrase “lim ko pi” that means to “drink coffee”. And drinking coffee and indulging in some Malaysian kopitiam favourites is what you will do here at Lim Kopi Ipoh. The owners believe in making everything in house, so they don’t use mass produced food items. Whether it’s freshwater prawns curry noodles from Pusing, their intepretation of assam laksa, Hokkien Prawn Mee and Nasi Lemak, it’s all lovingly made.

Event Place

Lim Kopi Ipoh has restored an old shophouse and restored it perhaps past its former glory. Apparently they scavenged demolished buildings to find the exact Marseille tiles that were used at the shophouse. Anything that they could recondition was saved. All this makes this an instagrammable location where old is chic and new again. You definitely have to applaud their dedication to getting the event space right. Lim Kopi Ipoh has a old world charm that you just can’t find in a newer sterile setting. This is an event space that’s suited for birthday parties and meet ups especially of an alumni gathering where the ambience and food brings back memories of yesteryear. The space here can cater for up to 60 pax.

Location

Lim Kopi Ipoh is located at Jalan Sultan Ibrahim in Ipoh’s Old Town area, so getting here is not a problem. Parking is limited so plan your events carefully. Ipoh’s Old Town area is Ipoh’s new hub of chic and trendy.
