It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the year to Party – Petaling Jaya
OK, maybe it’s not the most wonderful time of the year to party in Malaysia given that we are blessed with a myriad of festivals to celebrate from diverse ethnic groups. But it’s still a magical time to celebrate. The year is coming to an end. We are thankful for the blessings we have had this year. There’s a bonus to look forward to. There’s a Christmas season of gifts and merriment coming. There’s a New Year to look forward to. We have put up a short list of event space to organise your own private party, starting with PJ.

Kelvyna Cafe
Kelvyna Cafe’s location in SS5 just off the LDP, Jalan Majlis and Jalan Bahagia makes it easily accessible. Its glass walls and high ceiling makes it very roomy and bright. Ground floor access and an instagrammable decor makes Kelvyna Cafe a good place to plan a party. Did we mention parking is freely available on the street? Oh and rental of the venue starts at just RM300 an hour. We like the hourly option that they have.
Ruang Subang
Ruang has long been a favourite to hold a party. The industrial look of the Ruang has won it many converts. Easy location via the NPE and then to Persiaran Jengka makes it a winner. Municipal parking lots are easily available on the street especially on weeknights and weekends. Rental of the venue starts at RM800 for blocks of four hours on weekdays and RM1200 on weekends.
The One Bungalow
If privacy and exclusivity is what you want and an event venue in an office building or a shop won’t cut it, then have a look at The One Bungalow in Section 17. Located off the Sprint highway, The One Bungalow is located within a gated and guarded community and there’s ample parking at the park near the bungalow. The One Bungalow comes with a barbecue pit for you to have a BBQ party. Rental of the space is just RM1,800 for the whole day.
AMPM Cafe
AMPM Cafe Subang is located at the far end of the reach of what we term as Petaling Jaya. In fact, it’s almost bordering Puchong but it’s highly accessible via the ELID highway and through Subang & USJ. AMPC Cafe Subang has 2 floors of space that serves a variety of functions. The 1st floor is a cafe space, while the top floor is an open space, allowing you to have use it creatively to fit your event. Parking is available either on the street or in Main Place which is just right in front of the cafe. AMPM Cafe has a very flexible rental rate starting at just RM100 an hour for the open space.
Penthouse Uptown
For even bigger groups, there’s the Penthouse Uptown. It’s a 4,000 square feet event venue that ensures you have enough space to move around within it. Located at Damansara Uptown, you can easily access it via the LDP whether you are coming from Kepong, Bandar Utama, other parts of PJ or even KL. Heck, you can even get here via the NKVE. Parking is available within the building.
