SS 13 was once one of the industrial hubs of Petaling Jaya. The likes of Sony even had their offices around this area. In fact, McDonald’s still has factories here in this area serving the Klang Valley. However, this area has been going through a transformation and has become a new space for education, retail and now event spaces as well. Whup Whup occupies an event space that was once home to a factory and warehouse that once produced industrial seals. Today it has a new lease of life as a restaurant and also a very funky industrial event space.

Event Space

Whup Whup has a sizeable event space which means it can accommodate a variety of events. They have two sections. HollyWhup is the main dining area of WhupWhup which has a space of 3,320 square feet (323 square metres) which can take up to 150 pax. Atas is their private space, recommended for parties of up to 30 pax. The main dining hall is a suitable event space for events such as product launches, indoor mini-concerts, exhibitions, bazaars, fashion shows and of course, wedding receptions and even corporate dinners. The smaller room at Whup Whup is a suitable area for baby showers, birthday parties, meet ups or reunions. You can rent their event space without taking their catering.

Location

Whup Whup is located at Jalan SS 13/3B, which is just 300 metres off the New Pantai Expressway. It is also served by the KESAS Expressway. All this means that it can be easily accessed from all part of the Klang Valley. While there is limited parking within the premises, there is ample street parking on the road and at the area surrounding it.
