Malihom Retreat

Established in 2013, named after the rice barns that make up the retreat, Malihom means ‘village of the fragrant rice’. Each barn has its own unique name. Malihom Retreat is perched on the southern crest, overlooking the paddy fields and hills of Penang. The team promises the perfect blend of natural surroundings, intimate service and of course privacy and seclusion. The event space comprises a cluster of traditional Thai rice barns which have been carefully converted with modern comforts, while respecting traditional charms.

Event Space

Malihom Retreat offers 8 barns for rental. Each feature individual character with ensuite and bathrooms on the deck level. At the hub of the estate lies the main wing which centres the reception, dining and living areas. The event space is linked to the main wing by way of footpaths. Each barn, with its own unique character has a private garden or a deck. This arrangement delivers guests with their own private space. Their unique picturesque settings provide that unforgettable experience to any occasion.

Events

Malihom Retreat is a a suitable event space that can accommodate events such as a family vacation, corporate getaway, wedding proposal, company retreat, anniversary dinner, and other events. It can host events up to 300 pax.

Location

Malihom Retreat is located along Bukit Penara. The easiest way to find the event space is through Waze app. Key in “MaliHom Private Estate ” and hit “Go” and you are on the path to perfect event! Follow the direction on Waze until you arrive at the foothill of the estate (next to a fish pond). The road going up to Malihom Retreat is only single lane.  To avoid congestion, please observe the traffic light system. Ample parking spaces provided by the event space!
