Run by Ezzad who named the cafe the English version of his father’s Malay nickname of Pak Tam, the event space offers food options that are absolutely yummy with favourites at the event space being their signature Beef Meatballs, Ninja Burgers, Grilled Chicken Chop and Chicken Rice, all being in-house recipes. Meals are unpretentious homely food of hearty portions. Reasonably priced with a wonderful ambiance, Thumb’s Cafe Ipoh is worth a visit, for both Muslims†and non-Muslims alike.

Event Space

Walk into Thumb’s Cafe Ipoh and find yourself transported to a rustic Malay kampong house ambiance complete with old-fashioned yellow wooden windows, vintage floral curtains, wall fans and cushy couches. The vintage feel is highlighted further by the presence of travel books and motifs as well as old style suitcases lying around the event space. Some sections of the cafe are more contemporary with its spacious container dining concept, bar style counter with high stools and inspiring quotes on the walls. Each table is unique, be it a makeshift crate table with metal stools or a wooden table with cushioned armchairs. Glimmering spherical lantern lights adds to the nostalgic ambiance of the event space.

Thumb’s Cafe Ipoh event space sits cosily within the large compound of Kompleks Badan Khidmat Islam Perak (BAKIP) in Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil in Greentown, Ipoh. Parking is aplenty and free in the large compound just besides the cafe.
